Are you ready to lead the way? The SSI Dive Guide program is the first step on an exciting journey into the world of professional diving. This course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and experience required to safely lead groups of certified divers in various environments and conditions. You will learn to give professional briefings, conduct site evaluations, and master underwater navigation like never before. At Scorpio Madeira, we don’t just teach you the rules; we share our “know-how” on how to read the ocean, anticipate diver needs, and ensure that every dive is an unforgettable experience. This is your gateway to becoming an SSI Dive Professional.

Itinerary

MeetingScorpio Madeira diving center

Day 1Orientation, professional ethics, and digital materials review.

Day 2Dive planning workshops and advanced briefing techniques.

Day 3Practical sessions: Group control and underwater underwater positioning.

Day 4Solving underwater problems and emergency management drills.

Day 5-7Internship phase: Leading real dives under the supervision of our Mentors, logbook management, and final evaluation.

Pick up and drop off (possible on demand with an extra cost of 10€ per person)

Required

15 years old minimum (18 years old to be active status)

Minimum of 40 logged dives (to start) / 50 logged dives (to certify)

Certifications required: Deep Diving, Navigation, and Night/Limited Visibility

Diver Stress & Rescue certification (or equivalent)

Valid Medical Statement signed by a physician (within 1 year)

SSI Online Formularies and digital material concluded

Restrictions

Not suitable for pregnant women

Not suitable for individuals without a professional mindset

Not suitable for people with severe medical conditions (Medical clearance is mandatory)

Do not travel by plane within 24 hours of diving.

Do not interfere with or disturb animal life.

Unprofessional conduct during the program.

Important: No flying within 24 hours of your last dive.

We did the "Try Scuba Diving" as a family and was a great experience, the area we dived down to was really interesting. Saw lots of different fish and our instructor took some great vidoes of us. Felt safe and looked after throughout our visit which really helped make it a good experience.

Mi hermano y yo hicimos una inmersión simple desde la orilla con Andrés. Pudimos ver dos tortugas marinas, una intentó mordernos unas cuantas veces pero fue divertido. Andrés fue muy amable y se preocupó mucho por nosotros durante la inmersión. Muy buena visibilidad y el equipo genial.

It was an amazing experience! As a first-time diver, I was quite nervous at the beginning, but the instructor explained everything very clearly and stayed with me throughout the whole dive. After a few minutes I felt much more comfortable underwater. Seeing a Caretta caretta turtle was crazy!
