The Double Dive by Boat is one of the signature experiences of Scorpio Madeira Diving Center, taking certified divers into the heart of the Ponta de São Lourenço Marine Reserve — a protected sanctuary known for its dramatic volcanic topography and extraordinary underwater visibility.
Your adventure begins with a scenic boat ride along the peninsula’s rugged cliffs before descending into crystal-clear waters that often exceed 25–30 meters of visibility. Each dive site is carefully selected on the day, based on sea conditions and diver experience, ensuring the best possible underwater experience.
Expect encounters with dusky groupers, schools of barracuda, amberjacks, octopus, moray eels, parrotfish and, with a bit of luck, sea turtles or even the elusive Mediterranean monk seal — one of the rarest marine mammals on the planet.
Our SSI instructors guide small groups to guarantee safety, comfort, and a relaxed pace, allowing you to fully appreciate the reserve’s biodiversity, lava formations, swim-throughs, and sheltered bays. This is a must-do dive for anyone visiting Madeira.
